OUTDOOR use
Make a hole in the pot under the base with a screwdriver or drill to avoid water stagnation.
Place expanded clay or other draining material on the bottom of the pot.
Insert a layer of non-woven material to ensure that water can pass through but not solids.
Place a layer of soil and place the plant on top. Finally, cover the plant with soil until the pot is full.
INTERNAL use
Place another pot containing the plant inside the pot and use a suitable saucer at the base.
If you want to proceed without an additional vase, you can proceed as above by drilling a hole in the vase.
Remember to use a saucer to avoid wetting the floor.
EXTRA Tip
It is also possible to drill a hole in the side wall of the pot about 3/5 cm from the bottom to create a “fake saucer” inside.
Fill that space with expanded clay, then non-woven fabric and finally soil.
In this way, unless watering is very abundant, the excess water will remain inside the pot and will not come out creating problems.
Is the pot suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, the vase can be placed outdoors. If it is not perforated, it is necessary to drill a hole in the base with a screwdriver, a drill or a screwdriver to drain excess water in case of rain. Several small holes are preferable to a single very large hole.
Finally, place a layer of expanded clay on the bottom of the pot to prevent the soil from coming out of the holes. We also recommend, for very tall pots, to weigh down the bottom with pebbles or sand to prevent them from tipping over.
Are any precautions necessary in indoor environments?
It is recommended to use a layer of expanded clay on the bottom of the pot. This allows excess water not to stagnate but to retain the humidity necessary for the roots of the plant.
Is the pot built to withstand low and high temperatures?
Yes, the pot is able to withstand all weather conditions, summer and winter. Remember, however, that unlike pots, plants are not particularly resistant to frost.
Will the color stay the same over time?
Yes, the pots are UV resistant and will not fade.
Is the vase shock resistant?
The plastic used to make the vase is very resistant and, even if it falls from a small height, the vase will not be damaged. However, particularly sharp or pointed objects can damage it.
How can I clean the vase?
A common non-abrasive degreaser is fine for cleaning any vase.
Are there any discounts for retailers or price ranges?
We apply additional discounts for orders with large quantities of product.
Is there a showroom where I can view items before purchasing?

What is the self-watering set available in Lechuza products?
Lechuza pots are designed to provide sustenance to your plants even when you are away or forget to water them.
First you have to wait for the roots of the plant to reach the reservoir of the pot. Usually this process takes 3 months, a period of time during which you will have to take care of the plant in a traditional way.
After this period, you only need to fill the tank with water and the plant itself will absorb the amount of water it needs. The only operation to be done will be to refill the tank when the indicator has reached the minimum level. The plant normally takes from 2 to 12 weeks to consume all the water.
To keep your plants looking their best, we recommend periodically adding liquid fertilizer to your water supply.
